Masters Degree Description

What is Animation MA?

You’ll refine your animation skills to develop a longer form animated film, serial or series, and prepare to ‘take it to market’.

You’ll learn to write story and script and will work with actors to bring vocal life to your creations. You’ll make practical materials and animated footage, learn the art of self-promotion and gain the relevant skills to build an electronic press kit and series bible.

You’ll learn the art of the pitch, and deliver it in front of panels and industry professionals. You’ll also become skilled in the contextualisation of your own work, and be able to apply a range of cultural critique to it.

Study style

This hands-on, practical course will be delivered through lectures, specialist workshops, critiques, masterclasses, guest panels and one-to-one tutorial. Assessment is both practical and written.

All of your efforts culminate in the final major project: ‘Greenlight: Pitch Ready’, where you’ll prepare your final animated series or long form film sequences to pitch to industry.

Entry Requirements

You should hold at least a  2.2 Bachelors degree with honours.
