Applied acoustics is important in many aspects of modern life, covering areas such as music, living spaces, schools, hospitals, airports, public life, environmental monitoring and more. 

Additionally, applied acoustics can play a role in major global issues such as:

  • developing electric vehicles
  • managing noise pollution in urban areas
  • advancing smart cities through active noise cancellation
  • soundscape design
  • artificial intelligence (AI).

Entry Requirements

You should have an honours degree (2:1 or above) from a UK university or equivalent. You must demonstrate a clear interest in acoustics. 

We may also offer you a place based on relevant experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications are considered individually.
