To suit your career ambitions you can choose one of the three following areas to specialise in – contemporary art, graphic design or curating. Your previous experience, study interests and career aspirations will help determine which route you take.
We will build your awareness of contemporary ideas in art, graphic design and curating, develop your working relationships and own practice via projects outside of the university, and you can also take part in studio production and a final exhibition.
You will be involved in a programme of weekly seminars and workshops, as well as project work alongside your peers, encouraging you to debate contemporary practice. You will also participate in events held at Photographer’s Gallery, Event Gallery and Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris.
Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree in the cognate subjects of Art or Design, at least a second class honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.
IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.
