Alongside the core PGCE English content, you'll dive into dynamic, hands-on Drama sessions, learning practical approaches to teaching key performance skills and exploring a wide range of genres and thematic units at KS3.
Discover how to craft an engaging drama curriculum through the English with Drama pathway, assess students effectively at every stage, and gain insight into teaching Drama at KS4. You'll be equipped to guide students through GCSE exam preparation, including the evaluation of live theatre, text in performance, and the devising process. With the PGCE English with Drama you'll explore the creative elements of Drama, such as lighting, set design, and costume, integrated across all key stages.
As part of this pathway, you'll also have the chance to teach Drama lessons during your placement, gaining real-world experience in the classroom. To be eligible, you'll need an A-Level in Drama or Theatre Studies, or at least 25% related subject content in your degree.
