The MBA Global Healthcare Management is a career development programme for senior healthcare practitioners, administrators, managers, senior management, doctors, dentist, senior nurses and other healthcare professionals who have had some management experience and are looking to develop their management expertise. Our faculty of published clinicians and healthcare management experts will support you to develop advanced skills in business, management, leadership, quality improvement and research.
By combining study and training across the three areas of healthcare, management and research, we will guide you as you gain a deeper understanding of business administration in the healthcare context. We’ll support you to develop your knowledge of global health challenges and how they can be addressed, as well as how healthcare systems can respond effectively, and the place of business management within health practice. Primarily this course will focus on developing your strategic thinking and practice-focused research skills, as well as highlight tools and resources that can help you to develop practical solutions and transferrable skills.
You should have both of the following: at least two years’ credible and relevant experience in the health and social care sector in a relevant profession or occupation (for instance, doctor, physician associate, advanced practitioner); and at least a lower second class (2.2) UK honours degree (or equivalent, or a postgraduate degree) in a medical, healthcare or nursing subject.For guidance regarding acceptable qualifications, please contact admissions@bolton.ac.uk. Qualifications gained outside England and Wales will be assessed on an individual basis according to guidance from the International Office.We’ll consider your application if you have substantial management experience in a healthcare setting, but do not possess a degree.We’ll consider applications where appropriate work experience can be demonstrated in lieu of, or in addition to, the published academic qualifications in line with the University’s Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) procedures.You may be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of work.If English isn’t your first language, you’ll also need IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band (or equivalent).
