This programme aims to give graduate economists and health professionals an understanding of how economic ideas and principles are applied to health, public health, and health care; students develop an understanding of how to apply economic theory and appraise economic evidence to inform health policy and health care decision making; the programme consists of a mixture of lectures, computer practicals, workshops, individual study and assessed work; module choice is flexible to reflect student’s prior learning; this programme provides the analytical tools and practical skills on which to start building a career in health economics.
A 2:2 degree in a health care profession, economics or a related social science, or equivalent; registration with a relevant professional statutory regulatory body is considered; all applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.0 (with a minimum of 7.0 in all skills), TOEFL 94 (internet-based, with a minimum 23 in all skills), or PTE 70 (with a minimum of 70 in all skills); where a visa for study is required, UK Borders Agency minimum English requirements must be met.
