This programme is designed for students who wish a career in Human Resource Management and require a qualification which will assist them to gain entry at a professional level. By the end of this programme, students will have gained a broad knowledge of HR/managerial activities and some opportunities for greater specialism in particular HR areas. Great emphasis throughout the programme is on the translation of student learning to the work situation and the development of (HR) professional, managerial and transferable skills. Effort has been made to ensure students engage in ‘real life’ issues through, for example, case studies, investigative projects and exposure to best practice.
A business or business related degree (e.g. psychology, sociology – with evidence of having completed relevant modules in these disciplines) from a UK university or equivalent. This should normally be an honours degree, although an ordinary degree would be acceptable if the applicant also has relevant work experience.

Post-graduate Diploma in another area (e.g. public management) or an MBA.

A Relevant HND in a business or business related area plus relevant experience

Following both CIPD and university policies on wider access candidates who do not meet standard entry requirements will also be considered. Applicants who do not meet any of the criteria above or who have lower levels of qualifications, such as the CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice or Certificate in Training Practice will be required to demonstrate at least three years experience in a human-resource related occupation.
