Digital technologies are fundamentally transforming the ways businesses operate, allowing for new business models, services, ways of working and forms of engagement. This course will equip you with the in-demand skills and capabilities needed to utilise digital technologies effectively in business.

Our graduates are prepared to work in the intersection of technology and business, going on to careers including consulting, project management, systems development and strategy.

You’ll develop techniques for managing technology-mediated change and innovation in business while adapting to meet the challenges and opportunities posed by digital transformation.

This course has been co-designed by academic experts and industry leaders from our Advisory Board and you’ll benefit from strong links to business.

Digital technology in business is a constantly evolving subject area with real world application and impact. This is reflected in our course at Leeds, which is regularly reviewed and updated to remain relevant to key trends and pressing challenges in digital technology.

Course highlights

  • This course responds to the needs of the industry and evolves to explore developments and trends, such as disruptive technologies, AI, blockchain, big data, and social media.
  • You’ll develop industry-relevant digital management skills, such as project management methodologies, digital transformation strategy, social media strategy, consultancy techniques, human-centered design and business model innovation.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to specialise in an area relevant to your specific interests and career aspirations through your optional module choice.
  • Content is co-developed by industry partners through an Advisory Board, with representatives from leading UK and international businesses, including IBM, WSP, ITV, BT, Crisp and Thales Group. Members also deliver guest lectures, hands-on workshops, site visits, and provide dissertation projects.
  • Benefit from teaching informed by research from the AIMTech Research Centre, one of Europe’s most influential research centres in information systems and information management.
  • You’ll either create an in-depth research dissertation, or have the opportunity to apply for a competitive company dissertation project, allowing you to gain industry experience by addressing real-world challenges.
