Applicants who wish to pursue a programme of study specifically tailored to their individual interests are encouraged to develop a proposal for an individual Master of Laws degree; students complete 180 credits worth of assessed modules, including a 40 credit supervised dissertation on an agreed topic of their choice.
A good 1st degree in law (minimum 2.2) or, exceptionally, in a related subject from a recognised higher education institution in the UK or overseas; relevant employment experience is considered; applications from those wishing to return to academic study to further their knowledge, or those planning to study for a degree while remaining in full-time employment are encouraged; international students should provide evidence of their proficiency in English: IELTS: 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 in each component); TOEFL: Internet-based score of 92 overall (minimum 21 in the listening and writing components; 22 in the reading component; and 23 in the speaking component); PTE: 62 overall (minimum 55 in all components); where a visa for study is required, UK Borders Agency minimum English requirements must be met.
