Masters Degree Description

Successful completion of the course results in accreditation by the Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health and Care Professions Council.

This course is run by the Department of Clinical Health Care

This course provides a programme of preparation for registered nurses, midwives, chiropodists/podiatrists and physiotherapists to prescribe safely and competently as an independent and supplementary prescriber.

Entry Requirements

You should:

  • be a UK registered health care professional, employed in health care within the UK
  • have a first degree or equivalent in terms of prior learning at the appropriate level
  • have a minimum of three years’ post-registration experience
  • be employed in a suitable role to act as a non-medical prescriber

In addition to the academic entry qualifications, if your first language is not English you must demonstrate that your level of English is appropriate for study at postgraduate level. An IELTS overall score of 7.0 is required for this course.
