Masters Degree Description

Property surveying is a diverse and exciting career choice that can give you the opportunity to travel the world and meet a wide range of people. Surveyors and real estate practitioners essentially measure, value, protect and enhance land and property assets.

A key attraction of the surveying profession for many people is the fact that surveyors are not stuck behind a desk. Although typically office based, you will have the opportunity to spend a great deal of time meeting people and visiting landmark buildings. Many surveyors travel extensively both nationally and across many parts of the globe. You too could become involved in the next generation of exciting, high-profile real estate developments.

Entry Requirements

 

Postgraduate Masters

  • Bachelor’s Honours Degree A good first or second class Honours degree (in a cognate or semicognate discipline).
  • Professional/Corporate Membership Membership of a professional institution in a cognate discipline that normally requires an Honours degree for entry.

Postgraduate Diploma

  • Bachelor’s Honours Degree A third class Honours degree in a cognate or semi-cognate discipline PLUS two years of relevant post-qualification work experience at a suitable level.
  • Bachelor’s Degree An Ordinary degree in a cognate or semi-cognate discipline PLUS three to four years of relevant post-qualification work experience at a suitable level.
  • Applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements or who have no formal academic qualifications will be considered individually based on their CV and an interview process and may enter the PGDip route. Admission via this route is at the discretion of the director of studies and for a limited number of applicants only.

Module Details

The programme comprises eight core study courses, with part-time students typically taking two courses per semester and full-time students completing four courses per semester.
