Our course will enable you to develop advanced skills and knowledge in restorative dentistry. Building on basic principles, the course provides consultant-led clinical and laboratory practice. You will undertake restorative cases requiring both routine and complex treatments. This involves treatment planning, clinical procedures and technical work.
The course has a substantial clinical component with clinically related sessions accounting for 60%. Specialists and consultants provide clinical teaching and supervision, supported by a comprehensive seminar programme. You can find profiles of our staff on the School of Dental Sciences website.
At least one year of post qualification experience by the start of the course, although we prefer two years of experience. For clinical access you must have the required immunisation against blood-borne viral disease. You must not have any disease which would constitute a hazard to patients. You will be given a health check soon after registration by the Occupational Health Department of the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust.
Direct Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.5 in all sub-skills).
English Language Requirements for this programme must be achieved before the application deadline in December. Conditional offers will not be made in relation to English Language Entry requirements.
Pre-sessional English Language courses are not accepted as an alternative entry to this course.
