    PGCE: 1 year full-time

Masters Degree Description

Accredited by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) and the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted).

Help children explore their curiosity about the world around them by training for an exciting and rewarding career as a science teacher! Our course specialises in physics, but you will also learn to teach biology and chemistry at secondary school level. If you’re interested in science yourself, this is a great opportunity to put your knowledge to use by inspiring children to learn more about how the world works.

Though teaching can be a challenge, it is also a highly rewarding and intellectually fulfilling profession. There’s no feeling like the satisfaction you get when you realise you’ve taught your pupils something new. We’ll give you plenty of opportunities to carry out research into the aspects of science teaching that capture your imagination, so put your passion to the best use for your career and work towards becoming an effective and successful physics teacher!

Entry Requirements

A minimum UK 2:2 honours degree or recognised equivalent qualification in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related degree (e.g. Engineering), depending on your chosen specialism, is required. Your degree must contain evidence of a substantial and appropriate level of subject knowledge.
