This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to become an autonomous healthcare practitioner, specialising in fitness, exercise-based rehabilitation and musculoskeletal management.
We focus on increasing your critical awareness of the current trends in sport and exercise rehabilitation, and build your confidence in applying these pioneering advancements to the workplace. Sport rehabilitation research is consistently focused on improving athletic performance and reducing injury risk. Therefore our course focuses on building the knowledge and skills to implement rehabilitation programmes that return athletes to optimum fitness.
You will have access to our partner Saracen Rugby’s nearby StoneX Stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club where you will use our world-class performance laboratories, rehabilitation units and testing facilities. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience in the sport and exercise environment through a work placement. (Access will be dependent on social distancing requirements due to Covid-19.)
We welcome applications from graduates with a 2:2 honours degree or abovePrior to commencing clinical placement hours you will need an up to date First Aid Certificate. If you do not have these you can take these courses throughout the year at our Allianz Park site, at an additional cost.Further requirementsDBS (disclosure and baring service) is required for student placements*.These checks will be explained and conducted during the first semester. Obtaining a successful DBS will enable you as a student to undertake a placement or work experience hours as agreed by the programme or module leader. An unsuccessful DBS or lack of a DBS, could hinder a student’s ability to achieve any placement hours and prohibit you from graduating with a full degree.*May be required for MSC SPA and MSC S&C (DE).You will also be asked to purchase a London Sport Institute Sport Kit.EligibilityUK/EU and international students are eligible to apply for this course.Academic credit for previous study or experienceIf you have relevant or work experience, academic credit may be awarded towards your Middlesex University programme of study.
